Gotta love an artist who is able to grow with a community and change up his game when the mood strikes. Shiny Objects has been at the forefront of the music industry in SF for longer than most of us have been around as he is still making music, playing gigs, and showing us the love.

Lately, I have been especially impressed by his ability to merge modern tech-house with more classic deep house in a seamless way that only a knowledgeable master can. The style has been consistent and has me rushing to dance floors because I know I can count on a good time:) Now we are bringing the sparkles to Tutu Tuesday and this is exactly how I like to get things done.

Matt Trujillo, of Pink Mammoth fame, is accustomed to working up dusty happy people into a nicely heated hive so he is a great opening act for the Burning Man inspired Tutu Tuesday. Pink Mammoth is one of my favorite crews on the playa because they always bring the feel good vibes and so let’s show the man some tutu love with a nice stretchy early bird crowd:) Can hardly wait to hug you!

$10 or $2 in a tutu before 11pm

The concept for Tutu Tuesday originated with its creator’s new year’s resolution to wear a tutu every Tuesday for the entire year of 2008. Carla Tutu set her stake in the Burning Man tradition of Tutu Tuesday while by chance donning a tutu at a New Years Day party (Stompy/Sunset), which happened to fall on a Tuesday that year. Having so much fun gallavanting about the city in her tutu every week, she decided that others should join the party and began planning the first Tutu Tuesday. Paige Smith, print designer for the San Francisco Ballet Company, designed the Tutu Tuesday logo and Dirtybird Justin Martin posed in the Japanese Tea Garden for the party’s first flyer.

After relocating briefly to Santo’s Party House in NYC, Tutu Tuesday enjoying 2 luscious years at SF’s legendary 222 Club. When the intimate gem sadly closed its doors, resident Atish and Carla Tutu decided to continue the tradition nonetheless. Stay tutu-tuned for latest developments…
